Housing

A juvenile gecko can be kept in a 12x12x18. Once they get closer to its adult size the recommended terrarium is a 18x18x18 or a 18x18x24.

For substrate, babies and new geckos can be kept on paper towel to monitor for poop to see if it's eating properly and make sure it's adjusting well to it's new environment. You can keep the paper towel or change it to repti soil once established. Provide alot of climbing surfaces like wood and foliage (can be real or fake plants) and hides. You want the enclosure to look cluttered to provide maximum coverage. Cohabitating geckos is not recommended as it often leads to injuries and malnutrition.

Heat And Humidity

Room temperature is prefect for these geckos. No additional heat source is needed unless the ambiant tempature drops below 20 degree celcius. If additional heat is required, a thermostat must be used to control the temapture to avoid over-heating. The humidity should be between 60-80. Misting the enclosure once a day will acheive that. I like to mist at lights out to provide humidity at night. Make sure the enclosure is not exposed to direct sunlight as this can heat the enclosure to dangerous levels.

Food And Water

For a complete diet, feeding Repashy and Pangea crested gecko food is recommended with the addition of live insects weekly. The insects should be gut loaded and dusted with calcium. The insects should be no larger than the width of the geckos head. It's normal for a gecko to not eat the first week in it's new home while it ajust to it's new surounding.

Handling Your New Gecko

Allow the gecko to adjust to its new surroundings for the first week. After a week slowly increase the handling each day. When handling always place one hand in front of the other and let it walk on your hands.
